Combinatorics & Graph Theory

Counting, generating functions, graphs, trees, colourings and networks.

Waxbarasho

How many, and how connected. Counting arguments that turn into generating functions, and graphs (dots and lines) that model everything from road networks to molecules.

Combinatorial Applications of Network Flows

Qaar ka mid ah koorsooyinkan waxaa laga soo qaatay qoraalo furan: Keller & Trotter, Applied Combinatorics, Levin, Discrete Mathematics: An Open Introduction, OpenStax Contemporary Mathematics, Wikipedia. Bog kasta oo waxbarasho ah wuxuu ku magacaabaa asalkiisa iyo liisankiisa.

Calaamadaha la isticmaalay halkan

Taab calaamad kasta oo loogu talagalay qeexidda buuxda, sawir, iyo waxa xarfaha oo dhan ka mid ah ka dhigan tahay.

Su'aalaha dadku waydiiyaan

Permutation or combination?

Ask whether order matters. A lock code is a permutation (order matters); a hand of cards is a combination (it does not).

What is a graph in this sense?

Dots (vertices) joined by lines (edges), not a plot. Road maps, social networks and molecules are graphs; questions like "is there a route" and "how few colours" are graph theory.

Miyaad leedahay dhibaato aad u gaar ah?
Ku qor ama ku sawiro bogga xalka: tallaabo kasta, sawir, jawaabta qarsoon ilaa aad weydiiso.
