If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this website are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

2. Use License

  1. Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on this website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:
    1. modify or copy the materials;
    2. use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
    3. attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on this website;

We do not sell this material. We do not charge for access to this material. We do not promote paid products on the pages that carry this material. Our paid courses are made only from our own material.

Upon terminating your viewing of these materials or upon the termination of this license, you must destroy any downloaded materials in your possession whether in electronic or printed format.

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that location.

9. User Content

Users are solely responsible for all materials stored, uploaded, or processed through our services. We do not monitor user content. We will not be liable for any damages claimed as a result of our services, information, or products. Each user is solely responsible for all materials they use with our services, for accuracy of materials including warranties, and for acquiring all necessary authorizations.

10. Solutions are for learning

Steps and answers are generated automatically by a computer algebra system and, for some problems, by a language model. They can be wrong. Check anything you rely on, especially where a grade, a payment or a safety decision depends on it. Problems you type are stored so that a result can be shared by link and so that we can improve the solver.

11. Courses, quizzes and final exams

Lessons are free. A course adds a quiz for each unit, a final exam and checks of your own working. Typed answers are marked by a computer algebra system, and written answers and uploaded working are marked by a language model. A person reviews every final exam, and may change any mark, before its result is released.

A quiz or final may include a question that is not counted towards your mark. It is not identified on the paper. Your result page explains it once the paper has been marked.

Work you submit must be your own. Notes and the lessons may be used; another person, or a tool that produces the answer for you, may not. We may void a sitting and withhold a certificate where work is not your own. Uploaded working is private to you and to the staff who mark it.

A certificate records that you passed a final exam on this site. It is not an academic credit or a qualification from any institution.

12. Payments, cancellations and refunds

Prices are shown before you pay and are charged by Stripe. A course pass, a single final and a pack of working checks are one-off payments. The monthly plan renews every 30 days on the card you paid with until you cancel it from your account; cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps access until the end of the period already paid.

Refunds: a course pass or a single final is refunded in full on request within 14 days of purchase if no final exam has been started with it. Unused working checks are refunded on request within 14 days. A monthly payment is refunded on request within 7 days if no final was started in that period. A check that could not be delivered is not counted against you. To ask for a refund or a re-review of a marked final, write to us from the contact page within 14 days.

13. The apps

These terms also cover the maths.free apps for Android and iOS, which are free to download. When you get an app from the App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply to the download. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app or for supporting it; questions about the app come to us. How the apps handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

14. Who operates this site

This site is operated by the company named above. These terms are an agreement between you and that company, and “we”, “us” and “our” mean it throughout.
